Ronin Slots is a very complex slot that takes a little while to get down completely. There are a lot of bonuses and features that were a little hard to understand at first. The slot machine takes on the theme of oriental China. The graphics are very well done and the game ran smoothly. The symbols were very clear and easy to identify. They included regular playing card symbols, nine through ace, and a variety of symbols oriented around china that included, among others, a Mongolian helmet, a flag with Chinese symbols, and a horse.

The sounds were actually pretty well done and original on this slots machine. I usually head right for the mute button on my slots but I let these sounds play on Ronin Slots. The game also offered a progressive slot that is handed out randomly at the end of spins. For most slots I am not a big fan of doing the progressive jackpot this way but I thought it worked for Ronin Slots because it had so many other things going on.

Ronin Slots Wild Symbol And Scatter Symbol

In Ronin Slots the wild symbol also serves as the scatter symbol. This symbol is a picture of the warrior Ronin himself. I didn't really like doing it this way as I prefer to have two separate symbols do this job. It made the slots machine a little more confusing than it had to be. Basically the Ronin symbol could be used to replace any other symbol on the slot other than the Koku symbol. Whenever two or more Ronin symbols appear on the screen at once you automatically win. This was an original idea by the RTG designers but I don't think it worked out as well as they thought it would.

Ronin Slots Bonus Feature

This game has a unique symbol that only appears on reel three. They call it a Koku symbol and it resembles a Chinese medal. The Koku can substitute for any other symbol other than the scatter and when it is used in a winning line it doubles the winnings. If the Koku appears along with two or more Ronin symbols then one of three bonus features is triggered. The first feature is called the respin. The middle reel is held in place and all the symbols on this reel turn into a Koku symbol that can be used as a substitute. The slot will be spun anywhere from 3 to 10 times using this feature. The next one is a free game feature that awards five free games in which the winnings are multiplied by one of the first spin and five on the fifth spin, with increments made in order. The last one is a free game feature that awards 25 free games during which all prizes are tripled. This was my favorite feature because it offered the chance for the biggest winnings.

Overall I wasn't too thrilled about this slot. It just wasn't user friendly enough for my likings. I like the fact that they were trying to bring some original ideas to the table but original ideas have to be done with a balance of simplicity which this slots machine failed to obtain. I would only recommend this slot for more seasoned players that are looking for something a little new.
