Gold Beard Slots is a pretty basic bonus feature slot. It was very user friendly and I felt like I had the entire game, and all its rules and features, down in a matter of minutes. The theme of this slots machine is oriented around the legend of Gold Beard the pirate. The symbols were very well done and didn't prove to be confusing or difficult to differentiate. They included standard playing card symbols, nine through ace, and an assortment of pirate inspired pictures that included, among other things, a parrot, a wooden sailboat, and a treasure chest. The sounds were pretty basic and they got really repetitive after only a few spins. I made quick use of the mute button.

The graphics were very well done on Gold Beard Slots and I never had any problems as far as glitches or loading screens were concerned. The game also offered a progressive jackpot that was awarded at random after any given spin. I really though, considering how simple everything else on the slots machine was, that they could have done more with this, such as adding an extra symbol to award the jackpot. This is something that a lot of slots do that I don't really agree with. One really great thing about this slot was the various amounts of betting options that were available to players. This was made possible by offering a large amount of betting lines, twenty, and giving a wide range of how much could be spent on each line.

The wild symbol in Gold Beard slots is the picture of Gold Beard himself, pretty weird looking fellow if you ask me. This symbol only appears on reels one and five and can be used to replace any other symbol in the game besides the scatter symbol. Whenever the wild symbol is used in a winning line the prize awarded is automatically doubled. Another cool thing about this wild symbol is that sometimes three of them will appear on one real at a time. Though I usually like it more when the wild symbol is available on all reels, I did think that this little extra feature made up for this in a pretty large way and by allowing it to double your prize it really makes it something worth rooting for.

A picture of a gold coin with Gold Beard's picture on it serves as the scatter symbol in this game. Basically, whenever two or more of these symbols appears anywhere on the screen at once a prize is awarded. This is really the most basic way a scatter symbol could be done and thusly it doesn't really make the game all that more exciting. I thought the designers definitely could have done more with this symbol such as make it apart of the bonus feature. This would have made the symbol more important and added more depth to the game.

The special feature in Gold Beard Slots is activated whenever the wild symbol appears on both reels one and five at the same time. When this happens two, three, or four free games are awarded. During the free spins if the Goldbeard symbol is added to reel three and if the wild symbols appear on both reels one and five again, additional free games are awarded. During the free spins all prizes won are automatically tripled. This is a pretty basic bonus feature, but it wasn't that hard to obtain and by tripling the prizes it could really lead to some big winnings.

Overall this is a very simple, yet solid, slots machine. They really didn't bring any new or original ideas to the table but I don't really think they were trying to. They did a good job of make a very user-friendly slot. I would recommend this to less experienced players that are just looking for a slot that they can open up and understand immediately.
