This is a pretty strait forward and user-friendly slot that players can literally load up and be playing with knowledge of all the rules and features in literally minutes. The designers at RTG were probably just aiming to make a slots machine whose aim was simplicity and they did a very fine job at doing so. One of the parts of Aztec's Treasure Slots that contributed in a large way to this simplicity were the symbols. It is important that symbols be unique and easy to identify from each other and this was accomplished. They symbols ranged from regular playing card symbols, nine through ace, and an assortment of Aztec inspired symbols that included, among others, a leopard, a necklace, and a Aztec princess. The graphics were also very well done on this machine, as with almost all of the higher end RTG designs. Everything ran smooth once the game was loaded up and players can expect to not experience any glitches or additional loading screens.

The sounds effects on this slot machine were nothing to write home about. They didn't really add to the game play in any positive way so I just went ahead and made use of use mute button. Another thing I wasn't really high on was the way they decided to do the progressive jackpot. I would have preferred the addition of another symbol to award this jackpot rather than just handing it out randomly at the end of a spin. This would have made this feature a bigger part in the game, thusly making the entire game more exciting.

The wild symbol in Aztec's Treasure Slots is the picture of an Aztec king. This symbol only appears on reels two, three, and four and can be used to substitute for any other symbol other than the scatter symbol. I thought that this was a pretty lack luster wild symbol. It didn't do two things that I usually require in slots that I play regularly. It didn't appear on every reel and it didn't offer a prize multiplier when it was used in a winning combination. There was just really no incentive to root for this symbol which means it wasn't really a big factor in the game.

A picture of a golden Aztec statue serves as the scatter symbol in Aztec's Treasure Slots. Whenever three or more of these symbols appears anywhere on the screen a prize is automatically awarded. This prize really takes a back seat though because when three or more appear on the screen you are also awarded free games. Five, ten, or fifteen free games are awarded when you get 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols respectively. During the free games all prizes tripled and for every additional scatter symbols that appears players are awarded the triggering bet. If you are playing on twenty different betting lines you can imagine how this can really add up. Scatter symbols that appear during the free games also award anywhere from 1 to 25 more additional free games depending on how many of these symbols appear. By doing the bonus feature this way the designers really placed all the emphasis of the slot on the scatter symbols. They also designed the game in a way in which players can really rack up some huge winnings. I though that the bonus feature in and of itself was a great idea but I didn't really like how it placed all the emphasis of the game on this one symbol.

Overall, I think that this is, a slot worth playing every once in a while. Though I don't play this slot regularly because it allows one symbol to control the entire game play, the ability to win some huge prizes keeps me coming back to it from time to time to try my luck. I would recommend this slots machine to any person that is looking to have the chance at winning some big bucks fast.
