What A Hoot Slots is a very strait-forward and rather simple slots machine. I really didn't find anything all that special about this machine. Though the machine wasn't all that unique it did do a lot of things very well that really contributed to the solid game play. The first thing I thought they did well were the symbols. They were very colorful and unique. I also never confused any of the symbols with each other and the special symbols were very easy to identify right away. This had the effect of making the game more exciting because it made the special symbols much easier to root for. The graphics were also very well done. They were very smooth and after the initial loading screen I never experienced any glitches or prolonged loading screens. The betting options were decent on this machine, but not great. Players could bet as little as a penny per spin or as much as 45 dollars a spin. There were only nine available pay lines to bet on and I thought that since they really had rather simple bonus features they could have added more pay lines to easily make the game more exciting. One thing I really didn't like were the sounds. I thought that they were really annoying and I had no idea what the background noise was supposed to be.

This symbol appeared on every reel and could be used to substitute for any symbol other than the scatter symbol. For me, this symbol was just a little too symbol for my likings. I thought they could have added a prize multiplier or an extension feature that really wouldn't have made this a more exciting symbol. The game really liked a defining symbol that players could root for.

This symbol appeared on every reel and awarded a prize whenever three or more of these symbols appeared anywhere on the screen together. This, like the wild symbol, was just too simple. I thought that with the simplicity of the game in general, this symbol could have been used to award some free games or something along those lines.

Overall, I thought that this machine really lacked one key feature. That being, a symbol that players could really get excited about and root for while playing. Without this the game just got really boring quickly and I lost motivation to play after about five minutes. They just didn't do a good job of offering a real incentive to keep playing to come back to this machine after the initial play. I really wouldn't recommend this slots machine to anyone because I just don't think there are enough chances to win big and you time could probably be spent on more exciting machines.
