The first thing I noticed about Path Of The Penguin Slots, as if I had a choice, was the beginning intro. I actually thought that this was quite entertaining and it was a welcome break from the normal generic intros I am used to seeing on most machines. I would almost recommend this machine just to experience the intro. The theme is centered around warrior penguins who are trained in the Asian martial arts. The symbols really helped to bring this theme to life. They included regular playing card symbols, nine through ace, and an assortment of Antarctic inspired symbols that included, among others, a sliced up fish, a Chinese snow star, and num-chucks. The sounds were decent on this machine. The sounds made after a win really served to bring the theme to life but I thought that the background noise was really out of place and irrelevant. The betting options were absolutely excellent on this machine. Players had the option to be on up to 25 different lines. This is as large an amount of betting lines that a player can expect to find on a slots machine and it really served to increase players chances of winning on every spin. The betting range was also very healthy and players could spin the reels for as little as a penny or for as much as 62.50.

The wild symbol on Path Of The Penguin Slots was a picture of a warrior penguin. This symbol appeared on every reel and could be used to substitute for any symbol in the game other than the scatter symbol. I thought that this wild symbol was a little simple for my likings and it really could have benefited from an additional feature or intricacy. Without any additional features it just wasn't a symbol that was really worth rooting for or that brought a lot of excitement to the table.

The scatter symbol is were the designers tried to place the emphasis of the game on. A picture of poor little penguin trapped in an ice cube served as the scatter symbol. This symbol appeared on every reel and awarded a prize whenever two or more appeared anywhere on the screen together. The real fun started though whenever three or more symbols appeared together. When this happened five free spins were automatically awarded during which all prizes were tripled. Before the free spins began a little bonus game was offered in which you were given the option to choose among a selection of ice cubs to reveal prizes or additional free spins. I thought this was a decent scatter symbol but I thought it could have been better had it offered more guaranteed free spins.

Overall, I thought this was only an average slots machine. I thought the features offered were alright but they definitely could have been done better. I don't think that I will be coming back to this machine for multiple plays but it was definitely worth at least one try. I would suggest that players at least give this machine a shot and because there's a chance they really might like the layout offered.
