That is the one thing I though this game was lacking, originality. Nothing really stuck out about this machine in my mind and thusly I don't think it is very rememberable. I did like the visual graphics that were employed on this machine. I thought it was really cool that the symbols didn't spin on to the screen but rather rolled in on mining carts. The symbols were also pretty well done and I liked the fact that I never got any of the symbols confused with one another and the important symbols were very easy to identify as soon as they appeared on the screen. This machine also offered a gamble feature that became available after any winning spin. After a win you simply just pressed the gamble feature where you had to guess either the color or the suit of the next card to be flipped over. If you guessed the color right your winnings were doubled and if you guessed the suit correctly your winnings were quadrupled. Of course, if you guessed incorrectly for either all you winnings for that spin were automatically lost.

This symbol appeared on every reel and was used award a prize whenever two or more scatter symbols appeared anywhere on the screen together. If three scatter symbols appeared then ten free spins were awarded, if four appeared then twenty free spins were awarded, if five scatter symbols appeared then thirty free spins were awarded. I thought this was a really simple bonus feature but it was effective because it was really easily obtained and offered a place where you could really rack up some money.

I thought the designers would have been wise to have included some other feature, such as a prize multiplier, to really make this symbol have a big impact on the game. Without some other feature there just wasn't a real reason for players to root for this symbols or to get really excited about it.

The bonus symbol offered on Gold Mine Slots was a picture of two pick axes crossing each other. This symbol appeared on every reel and its sole purpose was to activate the bonus game. The bonus game was activated whenever three or more bonus symbols appeared anywhere on the screen together. When this happened players were taken to a different screen where they had to navigate their way through a mine. You had to choose you path and at each stop you could either receive a prize, some free spins, a tool , or a trap. The game ended whenever you had navigated to twenty different spots or ran into a trap. I thought this was a pretty decent slots machine but my chief complaint about it would be that it really didn't guarantee that you were going to be awarded a large prize.

Overall, I thought this was a solid slots machine but nothing spectacular. The designers did do a lot of good things but I really thought the machine lacked a sense of originality that is required if the machine is going to stand out so that players come back to it for repeat players. Also I think that when you add a feature onto a slots machine it should be a place where you're guaranteed some big prizes and many of the bonus features failed to do that.
