The theme was also developed by the sounds that the designers decided to include. I really liked the fact that they were all theme oriented and for a change of pace the sounds actually added to the gaming experience rather than hindering it. The graphics were very solid on this machine and I thought that the symbols and the basic layout of the machine were very well done. The graphics were also good in the sense that I never ran into any type of glitches or additional loading screens. The betting options offered on this machine were adequate but nothing spectacular. There were nine different pay lines available for players to bet on before any given spin. I thought that this machine really could have used more pay lines due to the large amount of symbols that were included. The betting range was pretty good though and the reels could be spun for as little as a nickel or for as much as 45 dollars. This should be sufficient enough to meet the needs of most players. X-Men Slots also offered three different progressive jackpots: the hero jackpot, the superhero jackpot, and the Marvel hero jackpot. The jackpots only differed in size with the hero jackpot being the smallest and the Marvel hero jackpot being the largest. The jackpot was awarded randomly at the end of a paid spin and the game claimed that the more money you spent the better you chances of winning the jackpot.

The wild symbol offered on X-Men Slots was a picture of the character Xavier. This symbol appeared on every reel and could be used to substitute for any symbol in the game other than the scatter symbol. I liked this symbol because it appeared on every reel, which increased its impact, but I thought that the symbol was a little too hard to spot immediately when it appeared on the screen. I also would have liked it a lot more had another additional feature been added such as a prize multiplier. This really would have given players a reason to root for, and get excited about, this symbol.

A picture of an icon that said "Xavier Institute" served as the scatter icon for X-Men Slots. This symbol appeared on every reel and was used to award a prize whenever two or more appeared anywhere on the screen together at the same time. This symbol was also used to activate the bonus game offered on this machine. The bonus game was activated whenever three or more scatter symbols appeared on consecutive reels in order from left to right. When this happened players were taken to a different screen and show four different zones that needed to be defended. In each zone you had to pick an x-men to defend the area against an enemy. If you won you were awarded a prize that was consistent with how much life you had left. If you lost you were awarded a consolation prize of double you initial bet. I thought this was actually a pretty fun bonus game because it really made you feel engaged in the prize you were winning and it played up the theme of the machine very well. It could also lead to some pretty big prizes.

Overall, I thought this was a very solid slots machine. There were a few things that could probably be improved but I thought that all in all it was a very solid play. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone who is a fan of the comic, or the movie, as the designers did a very nice job of bringing the theme to life.
