I was truly impressed by the visual graphics this machine offered. It really served to bring the theme to life and created a spooky atmosphere that made the game much more engaging. The theme was very evident in both the visual background and the symbols. I thought the symbols were superbly designed but felt there were just a few to many and it was very hard to keep track of the various symbol values due. I did think that they included a somewhat logical system to follow in that, usually, the more complex a symbol was the more it was worth but this took a very long time to get comfortable with. The betting options were very well done on this machine. Players could spin the reels for as little as a penny or for as much as 250 dollars. This should satisfy players of all different bank rolls and with a penny being the minimum bet it is definitely an option when you strapped for cash. The thing I liked the most about this betting options was the fact that there were 25 different pay lines that players could bet on. This really served to increase the overall winning percentages and gave players more flexibility as to how much money they wanted to spend. Vampire Bats Slots also offered a progressive jackpot that was awarded randomly at the end of any paid spin. The more money you bet the better your chances were of winning the jackpot.

The scatter symbol for Vampire Bats Slots was a picture of the words "vampire bats" written in blood. This symbol appeared on every reel and was used to award a prize whenever two or more appeared anywhere on the screen together. I thought this was just too simple of a scatter symbol for my likings. Without any other additional feature attached to it there just really wasn't any reason for players to root for this symbol or to get excited about it. For me it was really just a non-factor in the game play and felt too much like all the other normal symbols.

An animation of a bat biting into the screen served as the wild symbol for Vampire Bats Slots. This symbol only appeared on reels two, three, and four and could be used to substitute for any symbol in the game other than the scatter symbol. This symbol was also used to activate free spins. Four free spins were awarded whenever a wild symbol appeared on both reels two and four at the same time. During the free games both reels two and four were held and place and all the symbols on these reels served as wild symbols. I really wasn't too impressed with this bonus feature. I thought that the designers needed to either increase the number of spins awarded or add a prize multiplier to go along with the free spins. Without these features the game just didn't have a big enough impact on the excitement level of the game that it could have had.

Overall, I thought this was a decent slot machine but nothing all that special. The designers just simply fell short on some of the feature offered. The visual design was excellent but I think that if this is to be a great slots machine either more needs to be added to the scatter symbol or the bonus game needs to be modified. The visual design alone, though, should be enough to at least give this machine a shot.
