The first thing I noticed about this machine was the incredible visual design that the designers developed. This is really one of the most intricately designed slot machines that I have ever seen and I thought that it turned out amazingly well. They even included little peddles that floated around everywhere and added a really cool vibe to the machine. A lot of designers really overlook the visual graphics associated with a machine and you usually don't notice it. Yet, when someone does such an amazing job, as they did on this machine, it really stands out and made the playing experience all that much more enjoyable. There were some other good things on this machine. The betting options were well above average and offered a lot of flexibility as to how much money players wanted to spend. The betting range was very large and players could place a minimum bet of a penny or a maximum bet of 100 dollars. These bets were also available to be made on up to twenty different pay lines before any given spin. This led to a dramatic increase in the overall winning percentages. The symbols were so-so for me. I liked the fact that they were really elaborate and intricately designed but at times I had a hard time not mixing the symbols up. At other times I couldn't quickly identify the special symbols which served to slow the game down.

This slot machine employed a very simple wild symbol. The wild symbol on Masquerade Ball Slots was a picture of, what else, a masquerade mask. This symbol appeared on every reel and could be used to substitute for any symbol in the game other than the scattered firecracker symbol. This really wasn't all that great of a wild symbol. It did appear on every reel and increase you chances of winning but there was no reason given by the designs to really root for and get excited about this machine. They would have been wise to add an additional feature, such as a prize multiplier as this really would have served to increase the excitement of the game since there were too symbols worth rooting for.

The scatter symbol on Masquerade Ball Slots was a picture of a fire cracker. I'm not really sure how this related to the overall theme but I maybe I'm just naïve. This symbol only appeared on reels one, three, and five and whenever two or more appeared anywhere on the screen together the initial bet made was awarded back. The symbol was also used to activate the bonus game. The bonus game was activated whenever three or more scatter symbols appeared anywhere on the screen together. This is a very hard task and players shouldn't be expecting to be doing a lot of bonus game playing. During the bonus game you simply had to choose a mask under which you believed was a ring. This was a very simple bonus game for how hard it was to obtain but if you guessed correctly it did lead to a really large prize.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty cool slots machine, mainly because of the visual design, but the game play was just alright to me. I really wish they would have either made the wild symbol more intricate or made the bonus game more accessible. This really would have made the game more exciting and engaging. They placed to much emphasis on a feature that rarely played out in the game.
