Hot Dog Slots is pretty solid five reel slots machine. I can't say that I was overly impressed with the features that the designers decided to include on this machine but they did serve to add some elements of fun and excitement. The firs thing I noticed about this machine were the symbols. I actually thought they were pretty well done because I never got any of the symbols mixed up with each other and I could pick out the special symbols immediately. They also included a system for differentiating which symbols were the important ones. Basically, the more elaborate the symbol the more value it had. The symbols included regular playing card symbols, nine through ace, and an assortment of dog related symbol s that included, among others, a bone, a collar, and a doggy bed. The betting options were decent on this machine but nothing spectacular. Players had the ability to be on up to nine different pay lines during any given spin. This did serve to increase players chances of winning and thusly made the game more engaging. The minimum bet required was a dime, which is pretty sufficient, and that maximum bet was 45 dollars. Another thing I didn't really like about this machine were the sounds because I thought they got really repetitive and annoying quickly.

The wild symbol for Hot Dog Slots was a picture of a, supposedly, good looking dog. This symbol only appeared on reels one and five and could be used to substitute for any symbol in the game other than the scatter symbols. The part I liked the most about this symbol is that whenever it was used as part of a winning combination the prize awarded was automatically doubled. I thought this was an alright scatter symbols. I rally would have preferred that the symbol appear on every reel but I guess they kind of made up for this by adding a prize multiplier.

A picture of a Chihuahua with its heart beating out of its chest served as the scatter symbol on Hot Dog Slots. This symbol appeared on every reel and awarded a prize whenever two or more appeared anywhere on the screen together. This symbol was also used to award a bonus round. The bonus round was awarded whenever three or more scatter symbols appeared anywhere on the screen together. When this happened players were taken to a different screen and told to choose among two cards. If they choose the card that revealed a the hot dog then the prize was doubled and you choose again. If you choose the card with the bone then the game was over and you collected your winnings. I thought this was a pretty decent bonus game because if you got a few lucky guess you could really win a lot. The only problem I had was that it was actually a lot hard to obtain than it initially seemed like it would be.

Overall, I thought this was a solid slot machine but nothing more. The features they added have been done many times before and in many cases, done better. I just didn't think the designers added anything to this machine that is going to make me remember it a few days from now.
