Bay Patrol Slots is a decent five reel slots machine but I think it lacked the originality necessary to be considered a great slots machine. There just really wasn't anything offered on this machine to get all that excited about, especially if you are a more experienced player. I just wish the designers would have tried to of stepped out of the box a little bit when creating this machine. There were a few things that the designers got right though. One of those being the betting options. There were fifteen different pay lines that players could bet on which really served to raise the overall winning percentages to a live that provided nearly constant winning action. This really helped the game's excitement level as slot machines are usually a lot more fun when you winning more often than losing, no matter how small the victory is. The betting range was also huge on this machine as the reels could be spun for as little as a penny or for as much as 125 dollars. Bay Patrol Slots also offered a jackpot feature that was activated whenever three or more jackpot symbols appeared on an active pay line from left to right. When this happened players were taken to a different screen where they had to choose one of three different objects to win either the jackpot, the super jackpot, or the grand jackpot. These jackpots weren't as big as your common progressive jackpots but they were much easier to obtain and thusly seemed like more effective.

The wild symbol offered on Bay Patrol Slots was a picture of a man surfing a wave with the word "wild" beneath it. This symbol appeared on every reel and could be used to substitute for any symbol in the game other than the scatter, jackpot, or bonus symbols. I really wasn't too impressed with this symbol. I thought that it needed the addition of some other feature so that it could really have an impact on the game. To me it really just seemed like a side note that didn't provide all that much excitement.

The scatter symbol included on Bay Patrol Slots was only included to award free spins. The symbol itself was a picture of two life guards with the words "free spin" around them. This symbol appeared on every reel and activated a free spin bonus feature whenever three or more appeared anywhere on the screen together at the same time. If three scatter symbols appeared then ten free spins were awarded, if four appeared then 25 free spins were awarded, and if five appeared then 100 free spins were awarded. Though it was very unlikely that you would ever get a 100 free spins it did happen quite often that you received ten free spins and this was like free money which is something to get excited about.

The bonus game offered on Bay Patrol Slots was activated by a point system rather than a combination of symbols. You essentially needed 500 points to activate the bonus game and you received points whenever a bonus symbol appeared on the screen. The amount of points you were awarded was directly related to the total bet you made. So if you bet 150 and a bonus symbol appeared on this spin you were awarded 150 bonus points. Once the bonus game was activated you were taken to a different screen where you had to choose a watercraft to race in. For every object you successfully maneuvered a prize was awarded and if you completed the race you automatically won the grand prize. This was a very simple bonus game but I really didn't like the fact that it was so arbitrary as to how much money you were awarded. I would have liked to have displayed some skill in order to maximize my chance at the grand prize.

Overall, I thought this was a decent slots machine. There were definitely some areas where the designers could have done much better. I also would have probably liked this machine much more if some of the features they had included would have been a little bit more original. I think that if the wild symbol and the bonus game is just tweaked a little then this could be a very solid slots machine but it definitely isn't there yet.
